Did you uninstall before unregistering Signal?
- You will be missing messages!
- Have your contacts long-press the send button and choose to send an insecure SMS
- Your contacts will still default to sending you private messages if you have not unregistered.
- You need to unregister your number or have the sender choose to send you an SMS.
- Uninstalling Signal will not interfere with SMS from contacts who did not see you as a Signal contact.
You can unregister your number by:
- Unregister your number here
- Unregister through Advanced settings
- Open Signal
- Leave all groups
A. A. You will need to go into each conversation.
B. Tap on the 3 vertical dots
C. Choose Leave group. - Go to the main conversation list
- Tap on the Menu. On some phones this will be a capacitive button below the screen; on others it will be three vertical dots in the top right of the screen.
- Tap on Settings
- Tap on Advanced
- Tap on Signal messages
